Chat Summary For Sunday, January 20th 2013

Hey girls, Aly here! 
Here is the summary for Sundays chat. Please don't forget to sign up here if you want to do a summary, and please take a second to vote on this weeks topic, too! As for signing up to write a summary, we are running out of people on the sign-up sheet, so I'm going back to the top of the list and asking bloggers to do another summary. So it's really important new people keep signing up, so everyone can get the opportunity to write at least one summary.  Also, please remember to be kind to the blogger who wrote this post, since they took time out of their day to do so!

Hello Lovelies, 

My names Nuala from MakeupUpBeautyShopping and I'm writing todays summary! This is the second #bbloggers summary I'm writing and I'm so flattered to get asked again! 

The topic for the chat was: 
How to improve, establish, and maintain our blogs, and helpful tips for new bloggers.
Here are some of the points that were brought up during the chat: 
  • Large, clear pictures are often what attracts  readers to a blog. A lot of bbloggers also like seeing swatches of the product you are reviewing. 
  • Quite a few bbloggers said they prefer seeing lip products swatched on lips, eye products swatched on your eyes, etc to give the reader a better idea of what the product actually looks like. 
  • It is important to maintain a good relationship with your readers. Replying to blog post comments is important, as well as leaving comments on other bbloggers posts. 
  • Follow for follow comments are generally frowned upon by bbloggers at large. 
  • Twitter is a great way of interacting with other bbloggers and for promoting your blog. HelloCotton and Bloglovin are also popular. 
  • Taking part in the weekly bblogger chat is also a great way to interact with other bloggers. 
  • Turning off word verification on blog posts is a good idea as it makes it a lot easier for fellow bbloggers to comment on your posts. 
  • A lot of bbloggers have notebooks where they write down blogging ideas!

Overall, the general idea is to enjoy what you do and be yourself!
