Review: The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser

Hi lovelies, Alessia from Velvet Lashes here with a beauty review. The Body Shop has always been a brand I have liked but never highly rated when it came to the skincare they offered, from Vitamin E to Tea Tree, they offered a good variety but nothing that stood out to me or proved to me it was worth the wow factor, but all that changed over the last year or so when my eyes caught sight of positive reviews with the latest launches, so here is my take on the "Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser".

I heard good things about this product and water to try it out for myself especially when it claims to boost "dull, tired, frumpy skin" this is something my skin needs urgent help with lately after the arrival of my second child.

The packaging is simple, clean and appears high end. It has a matte black lid which I like as I feel matte black looks more expensive than the shiny glossy packaging. The packaging reflects the product's "glow boosting" title with a bright orange colour and the cream is packed with vitamin c, and to me vitamin c means oranges! Is it just me that thinks that?

The scent is not overpowering at all, instead it has a refreshing orange scent with a hint of a sweet flower hiding amongst the orange; a scent I love to smell in the mornings, it reminds me of being on my Nonnas balcony amongst her orange trees.

I have used this cream non-stop since purchasing it. This has been the product that made me fall in love with the brand again, so much so I became a body shop consultant! The cream is a light orange colour which feels refreshing and light to touch. I use this cream every morning to wake me up which it sure does; I feel refreshed and ready to face the world. The product claims to "refine texture for smoother, softer-feeling skin". What a claim to make! After a week of using this cream, I would say my skin is brighter, happier and appears to be smoother with a glow that makes my makeup love my skin.

Hello Beauties, Nia here from Style of Colours. Since we're now announcing the chat topics only on twitter, we thought we'd share some beauty posts here. For the first post, I thought I'd share my current beauty wishlist with you all.

ABH Dipbrow Pomade
The whole of twitter has been raving about this for a long time, but I just haven't gotten around to getting it. Maybe it's because I can't pick it up in store here or maybe it's because I was afraid I won't be able to use it properly. But I'm over all that now and as soon as I get paid, I'll hunt down the ABH Dipbrow Pomade and begin practicing.

Zoeva Rose Gold Brushes
There is something about rose gold brushes that just calls out to my heart. They look so pretty that I just have to own them. Okay and let me just be an instagram slut and say they look amazing in pictures. I haven't gotten any new brushes in quite a while, so would be nice to treat myself to some.

Macadamia Deep Repair Mask
I have to confess I have a thing for deep conditioners. I probably own more deep conditioners than any other hair product. After constantly looking at this product in the stores, I finally gave it a try a few months back. Amazing is an understatement! The mask made my hair so soft and full of moisture, I was feeling like a celeb.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
Just read a review about this and the swatches were amazing. I usually stick to matte bronzers & blushes, and keep the highlighting to the minimum because my face is really oily and it all just looks like one big mess after a few hours. But, I really love how this product looks and am willing to try it as a light blush.

Jamaican Mango and Lime Protein Conditioner
Your hair needs a balance of moisture and protein. For a long time I have been using the ORS Mayonnaise which provides you with both protein and moisture. But I like to try new products, so when I came across the Jamaican Mango and Lime Protein Conditioner, I thought it would be a good product to strengthen my hair.

Palmers Olive Oil Cowash Conditioner
I have been cowashing my hair for over a year now and it's working really well for me with regular conditioner. But, lots of natural hair bloggers are always talking about conditioners specifically made for cowashing and cleansing the hair without stripping it of all the natural oils, so I thought I'd jump on the bangwagon and see what the difference is.

PMD Personal Microdermabrasion
I came across this quite a while ago and have been lusting after it since. I am a bit crzay when it comes to skincare due to having acne prone skin, so I'm always looking for what will help my acne and acne scars. This product has so many amazing reviews, I am hopeful it will help me too.

Sheamoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
To be honest, I cannot remember the number of blog posts or videos I have seen with bloggers raving about this product. I have been dying to try some SheaMoisture products for a while now, but we don't have them here in Spain and I have no idea where I can order them from that won't cost a fortune. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is always in everyone's 'Fave SheaMoisture products' list, so I'm determined to find it or have a friend send it over to me.
